Why Chelsea patients choose us for hearing aids

A hospital audiologist, not a high-street shop

Many hearing aid outlets around the King's Road belong to a manufacturer or a chain. Drummond Hearing is independent. You see the audiologist who owns the practice, in a private hospital consulting room, with time to get the fitting right.

Genuinely independent

No manufacturer owns the clinic and there are no sales targets. Scott recommends the hearing aid that suits your ears and your life.

Head of Audiology, Bupa Cromwell

BSc Audiology, HCPC and RCCP registered, and Head of Audiology at the Bupa Cromwell Hospital since 2010.

Real-ear verified fittings

Every hearing aid is measured in your own ear canal, so the settings match your hearing rather than an average ear.

Discreet modern technology

Invisible-in-canal and slim behind-the-ear styles that stream calls and music from iPhone and Android.

60-day trial

Try your hearing aids at home, at dinner and at the theatre before you commit, with fine-tuning along the way.

You see Scott, every time

From the first assessment to years of aftercare. Nothing is handed to a junior or a salesperson.

Your hearing aid journey from Chelsea

A full assessment, an independent recommendation, a verified fitting and long-term aftercare — delivered personally at the Bupa Cromwell Hospital.

Hearing aids

Independent hearing aids for Chelsea residents

Scott fits Starkey, Phonak and GN ReSound. Starkey leads on invisible custom devices and on-device AI, Phonak on clear speech in loud places and universal Bluetooth, and GN ReSound on natural spatial sound. The choice follows your hearing test, your dexterity and how you spend your week.

Every fitting includes real-ear measurement: a fine probe microphone shows exactly what the hearing aid delivers at your eardrum, so the prescription is matched to you. It is the single biggest factor in whether hearing aids get worn.

Every fitting includes a 60-day trial, a five-year extended manufacturer warranty and hearing-aid follow-ups and fine-tuning. After the first year, an annual review costs £65. The £150 assessment is separate, with no additional trial fee.

  • Independent advice across Starkey, Phonak and GN ReSound
  • Invisible, rechargeable and AI-powered options
  • Real-ear verified fittings
  • 60-day trial in your own surroundings

Before your fitting

A full hearing assessment first

Your first appointment is a 60-minute diagnostic assessment with video otoscopy, air and bone conduction audiometry, tympanometry and speech-in-noise testing.

We start with the moments that matter to you — busy restaurants, gallery talks, family lunches — because they decide which style and features will help. No obligation to buy.

  • 60-minute diagnostic appointment
  • Speech-in-noise testing
  • Honest advice if you don't need hearing aids yet

Aftercare

Fine-tuning and long-term support

Follow-up appointments adjust your hearing aids as your brain adapts, and remote fine-tuning through the manufacturer's app means small changes don't always need a visit.

Hearing aid follow ups and fine tuning appointments are included. After the first year, an annual review costs £65.

  • Follow-up and fine-tuning appointments
  • Remote adjustments via app
  • Direct contact with your audiologist

Full details of every appointment type are on our services page, and every fee is published on our prices page.
