Microsuction is the ENT-standard technique: gentle suction under magnification, with the canal watched throughout and no water introduced. It is quick, it is controlled, and it is appropriate for ears that cannot be irrigated.

Allow around 30 minutes for both ears, including video otoscopy before and after. The fee is £120.

Wax that has been building for months can be firm; occasionally we recommend olive oil for a few days and a short second visit rather than pressing on. We will tell you at the time rather than afterwards.

Getting here from Bayswater

A direct run down from W2

From Bayswater and Queensway, the Circle and District lines run round to Gloucester Road and Earl's Court, both within a short walk of the Bupa Cromwell Hospital at 164–178 Cromwell Road. The journey is usually around fifteen minutes on the tube plus a five to eight-minute walk.

By car, the route through or around Hyde Park via Kensington Church Street and Kensington High Street typically takes fifteen to twenty minutes outside peak hours, and there is on-site paid parking at the hospital — worth knowing if you have found parking around Westbourne Grove trying.
